How to Choose Size Runs for Plus Size Wholesale Orders

A strong style can still become slow stock when its size run does not match your customers. Before placing a wholesale order, review the exact sizes and quantities inside each pack instead of looking only at the total number of pieces.

Start with your sales history

Check which sizes sold during the last comparable season. Use that evidence to balance core and extended sizes, while remembering that customers who repeatedly cannot find their size are unlikely to return.

Understanding 44–50, 52–58 and 56–62 runs

Sizes 44–50 usually serve a broad customer base. A 52–58 run gives specialist plus size stores better continuity. Sizes 56–62 can differentiate a boutique because these options are less widely stocked. When one style is offered in two runs, test the run closest to your sales profile and reorder according to sell-through.

Consider fit and fabric

Stretch fabrics can accommodate more body variation, while woven garments require more precise sizing. Read the fabric, fit and pack details together. Waist, hip, sleeve and garment length are particularly important in trousers, jackets and dresses.

Build a safer first order

Keep the first order controlled across colours and size runs. Give proven core colours more depth and test statement colours in smaller quantities. Track sales by colour and size before replenishing.
